The Diversity of IQ Beats
So the folks here at IQ Beats are a varied lot with more occupying their days than just composing and crafting some of the world’s best radio jingle packages:
Patrick Napper produces other artists such as Lynval Golding of The Specials fame and Charlie Loesel, fronts Omnivoid as singer and guitarist, is lead vocalist in the Dudley Taft Blues Overkill, co-writes and co-produces as a member of his wildly ecclectic Wordblender project, sings and plays trumpet on various IQ Beats productions, crafts hot remixes for the likes of Nine Inch Nails, Angelique Kidjo, Joi and Los de Abajo, and still find the time to travel around the country doing his one-man DJ gig as pnapper and furthering his solo career.
Dudley Taft plays guitar in various projects such as Spike and the Impalers, Omnivoid, and the Dudley Taft Blues Overkill, brokers fine Mercedes automobiles, owns a children’s hair salon and administers an investment fund.
Steven Scalfati crafts remixes for the likes of Ashley Tisdale, Lady Sovereign and Jessi Melay, plays live typically several nights per weeks at various improv-groove nights around town, plays keys in the band of IQ singer Michael, and writes and produces with other artists such as Reggie Watts.
Michael Berlin continues to expand his encyclopedic knowledge of early 70′s BMW E9 Coupes, is renovating his house, is a dynamic and accomplished alpine skier, is a foremost expert and aficionado of top-shelf A├▒ejo tequilas, and is quickly becoming one of Seattle’s masters of the grill.
Kip Beelman has spent countless hours behind a full-sized recording console engineering and producing for artists such as: David Byrne, David Cross, Sleater-Kinney, Maktub, Brandi Carlile, the Posies, Default and Death Cab for Cutie. Although loving what he does behind the board and at IQ Beats, the thing that drives his passion these days is photography and a full-bodied glass of red.
When choosing a person or company to work with for a custom music project, whether it be radio jingles, production music or music for film, it’s nice to know that the people you’re working with are good, honest, talented and well-rounded folks. Come out to a gig, book a mix session, send your stuff to be remixed, join us for a BBQ, or leave with an exquisite vehicle… No matter how you slice it, you will leave having had a great time and with some great music.
