We’ve got a question for you and it is one we have been pondering for a while. Is Dave Kelly the most talented man in the UK radio industry? He has been the voice for the GCap Network for years, he does telly, he does narration, radio presentation and he makes great production. It’s the latter that has brought this question to a head once again at IQ Beats.
Heart have just been back in touch to play us some of their new summer imaging. This year they got Dave involved and gave him a CD with loads of their IQ jingle tracks. They supplied Dave with drum submixes, alternate mixes, and vocal parts with the production brief ordering him to go away and get crazy. Anyone that knows Dave is aware that being slightly crazy comes naturally, so when the finished product came back, unsurprisingly, was a bit mad and nothing short of brilliant.
Dave took the jingles and mixed in some song riffs, Boys of Summer being one, added some vocal tags as well as some beats culled from hours of crate digging. His work here is fantastic and frankly we were not surprised… Dave has been involved with a couple of IQ projects before and his work is always top mark.
