104.6 RTL - Berlin 2

Thursday, November 12th, 2009

Two years ago we unleashed a bespoke package for 104.6 RTL - Berlin featuring the famous Kiss Chicago/Kiss Dallas logo and Arno und die RLT crew are back for more.  As they say, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”.

The cuts feature a slightly more organic feel this time around and are the perfect foundation for Arno and the Morning Crew and the rest of Berlin’s Hit Radio to rock their mix of Hot AC across Berlin’s twelve boroughs.  12 ramps + 12 long stagers + 12 short stagers + 12 shotguns + 12 boroughs = Boom.sauce to the 12th power.

As with the first package, we’ve set-up a call center with operators standing by for you to order up your own version of that venerable 3 note logo that no one can seem to shake loose from their consciousness.

And a shout out is due to Michiel Lisseveld and Paul Gulmans at Music And Images for being the link that brought this package to fruition.  Things happen in 3’s, right?  Well, we’ve just done Fun Radio - France and RTL - Berlin… What else you got for us guys?

Check out RTL - Berlin 1 here and/or all the cuts from the new RTL - Berlin 2 here.  Ch-check the face-melting demo below…

Fun Radio 3 - France

Monday, November 2nd, 2009

Boom-shaka-laka —-> Our muy bon amigos from Fun Radio France have hit us up for their 3rd installment of IQ awesomeness in the form of 15 new themes, all with an upbeat Electro-Dance feel.

With every cut being in a major key, Fun Radio is turning up the smile for listeners and relentlessly promoting their brand of Fun, Fun, Fun.  Turn frowns upside down in your market and get yo’ self a slice of the Fun.

As with the previous two packages, the producers at Fun like to take the a capella vocals and spin new tales of audio awesomeness to go along with the heaping of awesomeness unloaded on them by yours truly.  And speaking of awesomeness, we’d like to once again thank our European reps Michiel Lisseveld and Paul Gulmans at Music And Images for brokering the deal and being the coolest of dudes.  Grazie.  Ooops… Merci!

Fun Radio 1 is here whilst Fun Radio 2 is partying over here… Check out the demo below for the new package or rendez-vous with all the cuts and mix-outs for Fun Radio 3 individually here at iqbeats.com.

New Custom for Newstalk 1010 - Toronto

Monday, October 12th, 2009

CFRB - Newstalk 1010 - TorontoAs CFRB Newstalk 1010 is Toronto’s oldest broadcaster, Program Director Mike Bendixon was looking for a sound to maintain the heritage of the station while moving the sound forward.  This was to be accomplished while eschewing a typical four-on-the-floor and electronic-leaning news package.  Hmmmm… Who to call?

IQ composer Patrick Napper has just returned from Toronto and is proud to announce that our friends at Newstalk 1010 have begun airing our new bespoke News/Talk package and it’s sounding great on air!  Here are a few pics of Patrick haunting the Newstalk 1010 offices in Midtown on St. Clair Avenue…

The package is comprised of 9 themes touching on the main topics needed for the News/Talk format:  News, Traffic, Weather, Sports, Breaking News, Morning Drive, Afternoon Drive, Business and Entertainment.

Par usual with any IQ Beats package, each main theme is broken down and supplied with a bunch of mixouts to give editors and producers maximum flexibility with the package.  Mixes found are:  Fulls, Beds with 3 thinner versions, Front Stagers, two End Tags per theme, two detached logo versions per theme and a mix of drums-only alongside the same thing, but with effects.   Plenty of tools to keep Newstalk 1010 sounding fresh and will-imaged for a long, long time to come.

Check out each of the demo, each main themes below or audition the entire package here at IQ Beats.com

All Our Jingles Are Made In Seattle

Friday, October 9th, 2009

PG and Posh AlWe just got sent a funny piece of audio from PG of The Peter Gordon Breakfast Show on 96.4 Eagle Radio in Surrey and Hampshire, UK.  It appears as if PG and fellow presenter Posh Al were talking about 16 September, or “Stay Away From Seattle Day” as it’s known outside the hometown of IQ Beats.

Posh Al was postulating that perhaps it was due to the dreadful weather when PG acknowledges that if it weren’t for Seattle (and IQ Beats), his great breakfast imaging simply would not exist.

Not a lot of meat to this… Just a funny Friday post to brighten your day.  Have a great weekend!

KUPL - Portland

Friday, September 25th, 2009

KUPLKUPL + new ownership = New jingles!  Today Portland’s KUPL begins to air their very own version of our KSON package throughout Greater-Portland, Oregon and the surrounding Willamette Valley.

The themes from this package are uniquely mixed out into guitar-driven versions, traditional Country inspired versions featuring dobro, mandolin or pedal steel, and thinner acoustic guitar-led versions.  The 10 music themes are rounded out with a morning cut for KUPL’s Lee and Alana as well as a weather cut lifted from our JR FM package.

Y’all know we got love for the KWJJ as their airing our 100.7 The Wolf package and now KUPL are part of the family.  Daddy can’t pick favorites but can be proud that both are sounding as great on-air with awesome jingles.

Click here to head to the main site and hear each cut individually or have a little listen to a montage of elements from the package below.

95.8 Capital FM - The Package

Wednesday, July 1st, 2009

London’s Number 1 Hit Music Station, Global Radio’s 95.8 Capital FM have been airing our latest custom produced radio ID package for some time now and it is FINALLY time to share it with the rest of the world!

The package is built on 16 music themes in bed, ramp and out of break form alongside a news, weather and travel sequence for all your top of hour needs.  In addition, there are 3 breakfast themes and a comprehensive bespoke kit for Capital’s promotion of the Summertime Ball that has been delivered completely deconstructed to build up into promos for just about anything one might need.

Also sung and produced at the same time as London’s 95.8 Capital FM are syndicated versions for the Hit Music Network: Red Dragon FM in Wales, Leicester Sound, Ram FM and Trent FM with Mercury FM airing an instrumental version of the package.

The following blurb was posted at the conclusion of the marathon vocal recording sessions held March with vocalists and delegates here from London, Dallas, Philadelphia and Seattle:

After months of planning, writing and recording IQ Beats are extremely proud to announce our latest custom music-imaging package for the world famous 95.8 Capital FM is now on air.

When new owners Global Radio took the reigns of one of the most well know stations in the world, it was their top priority to get the station moving forward once again. After getting a vision from Director of Broadcasting Richard Park, it was onto the plane for Steven, Patrick and Michael and a visit to the legendary studios in London’s Leicester Square to spend the day at Capital and really get a feel for the station.

It was an unusually early start for the boys (not normally seen till lunchtime), but well worth it after the good times sitting in with Johnny Vaughan and Lisa Snowdon on the Capital Breakfast Show

The brief was taken from Capital’s Programme Director Paul Jackson and over the course of the project we have been incredibly fortunate to have nearly unlimited access to Richard Park and Group CEO Ashley Tabor, both of which have provided valuable input on this project.  Access to so many experienced and passionate individuals has resulted in what can only be described as a breathtaking array of cuts, beds, logos, talk-overs and IDs with our 95.8 Capital FM package for 2009 being one of our strongest to date.

Check out the original post here for some fun pictures from the session too.

Michael Jackson - RIP

Thursday, June 25th, 2009

Michael JacksonWe here at IQ don’t do a whole lot of non-jingle related posts, but the passing of Michael Jackson has become an especially momentous event for us.  Emotional even.

After seeing all the news drama unfold, the ensuing flood of clips of old classic MJ footage, the emotional outpourings from fans, and listening to impromptu tribute shows on the radio devoted to the pop music master, etc., it made a composer or two here at IQ reflect for a second and realize just how much he’s influenced our own music - Both commercial and otherwise.

Besides having the brilliant help in production and writing from Quincy Jones on some of his most influential records, Michael’s performance, conviction and delivery of songs changed the music world forever.  There’s only a handful of souls in this world who have that kind of magic.  Michael is one of those people.  He was our generations Elvis. Or John Lennon. Or Charlie Parker.

RIP MJ.

P.S - The next time I find myself at a casual club residency gig somewhere. And it’s 1:45am. And we’ve all had probably a lot too much to drink. And for a lark, we start playing an impromptu cover of Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough, nothing will have changed…  People are gonna get down and dance their M*th*rF*ck*n’ asses off!!!!!!  Thank you Michael.
